Get me!!

I might have been slightly wrong about Doodle in a previous post.  I thought I would continue to use Outlook scheduling for my meetings but I've just sent out 2 invites to 2 different groups using Doodle and I've already received responses - brilliant!

If only that had been around when I did my degree!

Just read up on thing 15 and 16 and I know about these tools but never had the opportunity to use them, I wish they'd been around when I'd been doing my degree.  I was lucky, a good 3/4s of my degree wanted Harvard referencing which I found really straightforward.  Unfortunately I still had to do 'numbers' on one or two modules and that drove me up the wall!!  Anyway, I'll know for future writing and possibly degrees!

Latent Twitterer

I do have a Twitter account http://twitter.com/#!/sharontuersley and I really enjoy using Twitter but I'm more of a lurker than a tweeter.  That said I often post on the Library's Twitter account http://twitter.com/#!/warwicklibrary to update our followers on vacation opening hours, vacation loans or anything unusual happening.
I've also installed Tweetdeck so that I can really lurk.  I've found Tweetdeck fantastic for wasting time and get absolutely side-tracked :-)  as such I've had to remove it from my work computer....except for Friday afternoons...

Crafty as a.....

...fox :-)
Well I already have FireFox installed so that was a realtively easy start to Thing 9.  I don't use FireFox as my default browser but I do use it to check how things might display on webpages I create because I am aware that lots of people do.
I was looking at some Google Analytics of the Library webpage the other day and it's interesting to see which browsers are being used most to access us and the decline of Internet Explorer in comparison to the rise of Google Chrome, FireFox etc.

Doodling

I've just doodled and that was fun.
Not sure I'd use it for internal meetings because I often use scheduling for that anyway but I think it will really useful for trying to arrange meetings with people external to the Library and the University.

I'm up for it!

Ever since I heard there was an award for the person who catches the most with 23 Things I'd thought I'd better get a move on!  The good news is I have done the following:
  • created a blog (see I'm writing on it!)
  • created an iGoogle page (very handy it's got my email, Facebook and fave webpages on it)
  • subscribed to 23 Things RSS feed (and created a Google Reader page and that was optional!)
OK, so I've still got a wat to go but I'm definitely up for it!

23 Things

Day 1 of the 23 things programme and I've completed task 1 by creating my blog :-)  Looking forward to the rest of the programme.
